Helping Honduras …

After three days of work, I have a few things to share.

First, my team is awesome. The new folks have jumped in and are doing great work. In the pharmacy, we do not have many opportunities to interact with Hondurans unless we are working the front desk, taking charts from patients, logging them in, and coordinating filled prescriptions for the pharmacist to counsel.

In the back, where we fill the prescriptions, things can get very hectic. But it is rewarding work.

The children are very glad we’re here, and they are always fun to talk with.  Yesterday they made bead bracelets with all sorts of beads, including animal beads.  It was fun to ask them about the animals on their bracelets.  They weren’t quite sure about the hippo.

Every year at least one of the abuelas comes to me and hugs my arm in thanks.  Usually  I have no idea who she is.  But it is always a special time.

I have not yet seen the construction team at work, but I hope to be able to share a few photos soon.
